He was a young man and worried he would be making a mistake in life perhaps in buying something he perceived as valuable (we always say diamonds are hype).  He was in the education industry and certainly on a budget for his engagement.  When he called he felt a 2.5ct might be a wise choice but we felt that at a young age this man was already getting a two carat diamond ring that was so much bigger than any of his peers that he was doing fantastic with a 2ct and spending more might place a bit to much stress on him.
